From Water Utilities to Veterinary Medicine — "TSM," the Knowledge-Sharing Platform Developed with Soo City, Expands into Veterinary Care
Demonstrated for two fields — water utilities and veterinary science — at the TSM Launch Event and SKLV Seminar on October 29
USEYA CO., LTD. (Head office: Minato-ku, Osaka; President: Osamu Ohji) has announced that Type Soo Mine (TSM), the knowledge-sharing smart glass platform it is developing with Soo City, Kagoshima Prefecture, is expanding into veterinary medicine. The announcement was made at the TSM Launch Event and SKLV Seminar held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the South Kyushu Livestock and Veterinary Science Hub (SKLV).
- TSM, which grew out of water and sewerage fieldwork, is being extended into veterinary medicine
- USEYA presented alongside the Soo City Waterworks Division, with demonstrations set in two different fields: water utilities and veterinary science
- Beyond remote support, the goal is to record, share and turn the experience and judgement of skilled workers into training material
About the announcement
TSM is a platform developed together with the Soo City Waterworks Division, prompted by the staff shortages and skill-transfer problems facing water and sewerage operations. The partners have now announced an expansion of that approach into veterinary medicine.
The SKLV Seminar that followed, on the theme "A TSM-based approach to veterinary medicine," demonstrated how the platform would be used in two very different settings — water utilities and veterinary science — showing how point-of-view video from a person wearing smart glasses is shared in real time with people elsewhere.
About TSM (Type Soo Mine)
TSM is a knowledge-sharing smart glass platform that brings "the eyes of the field" to people somewhere else.
- Streams the point-of-view video of the person wearing the smart glasses in real time, so several people in other locations can see the site and offer support
- Records site video, so the experience and judgement of skilled workers can be shared and turned into training material
Beyond remote support — from "seeing and connecting" to "keeping." The aim is to apply it to passing down skills and to training.
